Personal Statement

I am a Kentucky native, named Roberta but called Bobbie by most. I have always enjoyed the making of “Art”.

In 1989, in a race to complete college before our oldest  daughter, I enrolled and graduated from Marylhurst University. There I discovered I liked making “Art” with watercolor.

Since then I have attended many workshops, participated in numerous paintouts and become a member of; The Watercolor Society of Oregon, Kentucky Watercolor Society and Oregon Society of Artists.

My intent as a watercolor painter is to deliver fresh paint to paper with as little mixing as possible allowing the paint to mix on the paper. But intent can be illusive, much like watercolor and results are not always as planned.
